2008 ASEAN CIO Leadership Forum, Singapore, 23-24 July 2008  

More than 80 CIOs from across six ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand Vietnam) participated in an IBM-sponsored 2008 ASEAN CIO Leadership Forum.

The Forum focused on topics such as Evolving Role of the CIO, Achieving IT Excellence, and Aligning IT with Business Strategy. INSEAD faculty presenting at the Forum included Soumitra Dutta, Professor of Technology and Business, Dean of External Relations and faculty Director of eLab @ INSEAD; Dr Bruno Lanvin, Executive Director [worldwide] of eLab @ INSEAD; and Jasjit Singh, Assistant Professor of Strategy.

Participants were also presented with a copy of the 2008 ASEAN CIO Leadership Study, which incorporated findings from the 2008 ASEAN CIO Leadership Survey, sponsored by IBM and conducted by eLab @ INSEAD.

Middle East is the focus of eLab’s recent media announcement

Middle East is the focus of eLab’s recent media announcement. Journalists from a diverse group of Arabic- as well as English-language printed and digital media gathered at the Dubai Press Club on May 5 to attend a presentation by Professor Soumitra Dutta, INSEAD Dean of External Relations and Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Technology and Business. Professor Dutta shared the findings of the 2007-2008 INSEAD/WEF Global Information Technology Report, in which the UAE as the Middle East leader in networked readiness and IT competitiveness.

The GITR has come to be recognized as the “gold standard” for benchmarking the networked readiness and technological competitiveness of countries.
